My news feed is full of stories of blue hairs and the nose ringed working out their mental difficulties on nice folks for various offenses such as wearing red hats or flying the national flag. And of course we got others assassinating total strangers for religious or political reasons. I figure we as trappers probably have a bunch of triggering stuff around so please keep your head up and on a swivel and stay strapped.

There's been a huge number of seemingly unprovoked attacks on older white people by the pro Hamas crowd, easily in the many hundreds.

Shortly after I bought the place I live now a couple guys rolled up in a Dodge dually one Saturday morning. They got out and started snooping around. I greeted them with my 1911 in hand, cocked and ready to rock. They were a little bit confrontational until they figured out that I wasn't playing and the previous owner was long gone. Then they decided to get gone.

I typically carry, but if I'm not I have a gun in close proximity.
We have handguns in every vehicle accept the kids' vehicles and they're easily accessible throughout the house.

My thinking as well. I don't have your law enforcement back ground but I did pull a little bit of security work in some rough public housing in my younger days. Figured out visibility and and presenting as a hard target discourages the cowards that like to do stupid things. That and not putting myself into places where conflict occurs.

My grandyounguns can't walk out of a store without saying head up and on a swivel see trouble before trouble sees you.

I wear a revolver everyday since I was 24, going on 31 years. When working beaver a .22, otherwise a .357.
Only had my hand on it twice in 30 years of everyday carry, and one was a mether in one of the more upscale local cities who decided he was going to run up to my car window demanding I give him a ride after I watched him throw a bag of ice out of the gas station freezer at his girlfriend, other was in Benton Harbor Michigan. Neither was a blue hair. Not ruling it out though.
Never had it out of the holster on a person, but I do recall having it out because of aggressive dogs twice. Both dogs seemed to sense the seriousness of my intent and backed down, or at least did not attack.

but the blue hairs they speak of are not old , but people who color their hair bold colors some blue , some pink , red , green , purple, or even rainbow.

the thing is about 98% of them are all talk , although they do think it justified to use violence against people of different ideologies, few of them could back up a punch the larger issue is criminals of opportunity much like the ones that found themselves shot by Kyle Rittenhouse in Kenosha WI in 2020 like to join their ranks to try and blend in and commit thier crimes , they are encouraged by the big talk and become the action.
