Have morning glories that started in a brush pile and have now spread across parts of my yard and where my garden was last year. Didnt plant anything in the garden this year. So I am leaning torwards 2,4D or crossbow, anyone have any experience using these to kill morning glory? And what are the other options out there?

Why not leave them for the pollinators, Bee's, butterflies etc?

If they were not trying to take over my yard I would leave them be. But they spread like wild fires in the west. It was a daily battle last year to keep them from climbing and killing every plant in the garden. They can and will travel along under thick mulch, landscape fabric, and cardboard until it finds an opening where it can pop through to the surface. Some of the ones I pulled off my tomatoes travelled 4 feet under cardboard and mulch to pop up right next to the plant. I would pull them up through the mulch and wouldnt find their roots till I reach the lawn on the edge of the garden. So its time for them to die, on a postive note atleast I am not a farmer who has them in his corn field. If I have to nuke every plant in that section of the yard it will mean I wont have to mow for a while.

2 4D is good. Roundup is not as they have always been somewhat resistant to it. Mike

Some of the chemical listed above will not do your garden any favors next year.

Yeah, I am not opposed to moving my garden to a different section of the yard. And based on what I have read today crossbow doesnt look to be approved for around edible plants.

Using a non-ionic surfactant will improve the results you get with 2 4D. It will leave the grasses you probably like.
