Today was the day alotted for his truck repair. I showed him how to follow the directions from the book, so he could follow it to fix anything. Then I helped/showed him how to change the brakes, rotors, and unfortunately the caliper as well as how to bleed after changing the caliper. So we did one side and i went in the house and said come get me if you need help. He only needed me to break loose two bolts and he did the brakes and rotors on his own. (I did go out to supervise the process of putting it all back together, for safety. He was proud as a peacock on the test drive after he got it all buttoned up.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

Good work Boy
remember check the lugs in 50-100 miles

people who don't ruin rims or worse

and don't trust the impact is enough or not too much tightening lugs , you get them run down and let it hammer a couple times then check it with a wrench
ford has called for 150 foot pounds since 2004 on the f150

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Great lesson for him, and great time for both. Basic wrenching skills are helpful in many ways.

Great Job. My daughter had followed me around the garage since she was big enough to walk. I’m proud to say she is a pretty good at doing maintenance on her vehicle. Eric

You will be the one walking around prouder than a pea (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) shortly when he uses his new found skills and confidence. For example when my wife sent me a picture of a tire I ordered back on the utv. She picked it up amn my youngest at 7 at the time put it back on. Or this year the same kid now 12 changed the alternator at the ball field for a early 20s guy that could not figure it out.

Congrats on teaching him and to him wanting to learn.
Many kids today don't want to learn or do any work. Older lady asked me if I could teach and get her grandson to to work and do what my boys do. She hired them to do the yard at one of her houses where her daughter and 12 year old grandson lives grandma lives at another location. I was sad for her she had to hire my 12 and 14 year old to mow and her grandson that lived there would not do it. She said something about him not coming out of the house and video games and single mom. It was very hard for me to bite my tongue but I managed. It's a 50$ a week for 30 min yard for the boys and a future small dead ash tree removal for me.

Edit. Great job on the ear pro running the impact. Safety habits started young stay for life.

Oh....and my son changed out the radiator in my 1994 Chevy truck when he was just 6 years old...while I was out drinking at the VFW with my friends.

Dang proud of that Boy.
