I bought an old bass boat trailer to put my 14 foot mod v on it is a little longer than it needs to be.

good trailers for small boats are rather expensive if you can find one here

there seem to be lots of old bass boat trailers , heavier axel , larger wheels it pulls very nice going down the road very smooth.

picked it up for 500 , 130 in new tires , 40 for bearing and seals , 2 new planks for about another 30 and 25 for a set of lights so I guess I am 725 into the trailer and some time

if I was trying to get it in the garage I would have worked harder or spent more on a narrower trailer , up side is this sits nice and low and launches easy easy to put stuff in boat before launching.

I will have to get some pictures of the boat on the trailer when it is light out

when I saw this one and that it had all the right brackets to mount the bunks where I needed them and I could slide the winch back as far as I needed I knew I could make it work.

I have to check the shift linkage as my son seems to have gotten it stuck in forward only , could be worse I can start the little 15 in forward and it puts along ok , then gets right up on plain.
running up stream at 20 with just the 2 of us in it .

put about 40 miles on with it on trailer and then a couple miles on the river with the boat.

that was a crazy weather day for sure

the guy I bought it from was in White water , I picked the trailer up from about 20 minutes north of his place at a friend of his farm where had had been storing it

left home no snow in Green county , no snow in Rock county , about an inch of snow where I picked it up in Jefferson county but he had 8 inches in the bed of his truck coming from Walworth county just 20 minutes away he showed me pictures of his yard and he had a solid 8 inches , whenever you saw a car driving at you full of snow you knew it came from a narrow band of snow across part of Walworth county

also a good deal when you get invited fishing for next winter , he has a place he fishes on whitewater lake where he has a place to warm up back on shore heated shop.

we had had crazy winds the day before seeing damage all over the place , calf enclosures blown clear across a field and road.

That’s kinda nice having some extra room on the trailer

I could easily put a larger boat on the trailer , bu it is working and the motor rides where it doesn't drag at all
should also be easy on the transom

That’s a good deal!
You might think about moving the winch towards the back so transom and motor are sitting on, or closer to the 2x6 bunk support on back of trailer.

new oars this year , lost one on the Miss pool 5A last fall and realized the other was cracked

drilled holes and put some wire through so that these can't come out of the oar locks

I like my manual backup power

I have the wire run tot he front for the trolling motor but need to get that mounted yet

Nav lights are on and wire run , need to hook up the switch box before I can do any night fishing.

it is very well balanced sitting right there I have about 60-70 pounds of tongue weight so it rides very smooth.
shouldn't be much more weight than it rides with now , total , that is battery in and full tank of gas

as I get it all finished up and fishing it if I find I have more weight on the tongue I will move it back a few more inches.

and you never see step up boards like that on little trailers , darn handy to just take a step up and can get right in the boat and out again easy in easy out to grab stuff , although also easy enough to most things just reaching. but if you want to get all the minnows and stuff situated before launch.

the beam is 69 1/2 inches it is very comparable to 1448 lowe but I think it is actually 14 feet long not 13 feet 8 inches

it works since I store this boat outside , it would take my entire garage

Maybe put some outdoor carpeting on them bunk boards. Will be easier on the boards and on your boat.Easier to load and unload also.

well past shake down run , have 2 days of fishing in on the big river here is my rig big river in the background

[Linked Image]

the truck I bought from my dad to replace the 2004 GMC 1500 that I hit a deer with and wiped out the front end this is a 2013 F150 with the 5.0

the boat is a 1988 Fisher Netter 14 comparable to a Lowe 1448 pulled it from the weeds are a late friends cabin they hadn't used it in 20 years and the transom was rotten I put a new transom in it last year.

the Motor in the Picture is a 1991 Johnson 2 stroke 15hp

I found a newer motor for it that I pick up tomorrow and jump up to a 2017 Yamaha 4 stroke 20hp with electric start
I would have liked tilt and trim but more weight and a lot more cost that will have to wait till the next boat

hoping the new motor will get me up on plane faster and keep me up on plane better

the 15 will go 20mph on plane once it gets up there on still flat water with 2 people no gear.
fight a headwind or current with 2 people and some gear and I was at 15-16 today down stream was into the wind and up stream there was a 3mph current in the channel.

also hoping to get better trolling speeds
