Dad (85) has been reinvigorated in black powder for the past number of years. I certainly helped that since I sort of switched all my hunting to tradbows and flintlocks. I couldnt think of anything to get him and then the idea popped into my head of a priming flask. I saw him fiddling with one at the range the other day and it looked dumb frankly. I also have my hands firmly clamped on the sterling silver one he made in the 80s.

I aced a little pronghorn at 110ish last year and he got to see the whole thing go down from afar. It was a cool moment to share. The horns from the buck seemed to be the perfect size. They are very different then cattle horns but I think it will stand the test of time. Put a 3gr ffffg valve on it. Plug is wenge. Pinned it with some brass nails. Decided to put this finish called osmo on it. Its a Euro oil-wax that i had laying around from a project. I think he’ll be happy with it and its nice to get him something he actually needs.
