Got this mosin years ago as a my first gun purchase when I was like 17.... Dang I'm feeling a lil old , 27 now... Anyhow bought it and it was chopped down rough. Annoyed dad so much he has someone put it in a ATI stock when I was at AIT . Never really liked it , been saying I was gonna put it in a better stock for the last few years but never got around to it. Buuuutttt finally hopped on boyds and ordered in my favorite design

Texas varmint style stocks are just my favorite...mainly due to the grip... When you are a womans small in gloves ....the stock grips on most bolt guns aren't super comfortable. Too far back bit too straight.

Deal is these varmint stocks are a bit beefy in a few places I don't like the best so started modifying them a bit like on my .243

1/2 Sander on the grip to make it a bit molded to the hand , get the big sander out to take off excess wood around the grip, re profile the end a lil.
The bore on this mosin is a bit ate up honestly and it's mainly a cast bullet gun now , 100yd and less ... So think imma trim this one up a bit so it's more a sleek deal no sure yet tho

Not sure what I'm gonna do as far as painting it or what. Was considering staining but the type of wood they use instead the prettiest if I remember....idk still might try, can always rattle can back over I reckon
