[Linked Image]

Just looking at the pictures just looks like a bunch of 2x2 stakes and 1 by's ! Said she wanted that but smaller ,shorter and without all the extra bits so went to Lowe's mapped it out in the floor ....then went to the smaller place down the road and

I think this is one of the reasons my husband loves when we travel in the spring.... less work for him to do around the house since we aren't home!

if you have to rebuild it every year because the pallet wood rots out that fast in ground contact , seems like it isn't a good time savings

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

But she wouldn't ask Wolfie to do it again! grin grin On a serious note, you can treat them, line them, to make them last a while. My neighbors are still doing good after bout 5 years. Just a thought...

Hopefully that was the newer kind of treated wood, the old stuff is a no-no for raised beds.

I made some raised beds for my house years ago. Made the beds over top of the old garden. So they are only raised 6 inches above the rest of the garden. So the deeper rooting plants can get a get a bit more structure and I didnt have to spend a fortune in buying peat moss, compost and bedding soil. Amazing how much this stuff can add up to.

You screwed up Donovan…… right after you got married you should have put one of her high end sweaters in the dryer…. on permanent press. She’d never ask you to anything again……

Just kidding, good on you for putting the project out together for her.

Heck buddy, make her a mess of them and build her a produce stand for the end of the lane. Sell them to passersby’s.

If that is PT Ground contact lumber, it will leach toxins into the soil, maybe OK for flowers, but I wouldn't want to eat anything from it.

I made my own while the hubby was at work.
Rectangular is the easiest.
Chicken wire on top keeps the squirrels out and can help with hail.

Just got some of my tomatoes planted, about a week earlier this year. Hoping we don't get one last freeze.

Listen to BigBob. If you are using treated lumber and planting anything edible, line it with something to prevent toxins from leaching into the soil.
