Hi y'all!

I am a grad student at the University of Kansas studying carnivores. I am interested in learning more about seasonal color change in weasels. This project is about least weasels (Mustela nivalis), which are the smallest of all weasels with short tails without the black tip! However, we are also in search of long-tailed weasels and ermine!

As an avid hunter and a less experienced trapper, I am hoping that y’all may be able to help me source carcasses for this project. If you or anyone you know has frozen weasels from this or past winter trapping seasons, I would be highly interested in taking the carcasses off your hands! For each, I need coordinates or information on where it was collected, the date of collection, and a copy of the permit it was collected under. Please shoot me an email/DM or leave a comment if you have any leads or questions!

Attached is a flyer to share with others who may be interested.

Thank you for the help in advance!!!

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Danielle Land is listed as a doctoral student at the University of Kansas.

https://eeb.ku.edu/people/land-danielle

She published a paper on martens last year.

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10980-024-01915-y

She very much appears to be a legitimate researcher needing trappers help.

Oh my goodness, what a TYPO! Thank you for catching that–– yes, -20 degrees C (-4 degrees F). I will get that updated!

Frozen weasels are the target!

I'm pretty sure Bobby J donated a building to the University; so, they'll probably send them to him as a Thank You.
