Yep, havent seen it on a Ford bedside yet. But quite a few other manufactures have aluminum hoods and we see a lot of that kind of corrosion on them.

I'm thinking initial factory primer...its right down to the aluminum .

Then it has bubbles .. Of blisters with the white powder oxidation going on

typical aluminum stuff

2019 Ford Ranger, full paint coverage, no blemishes unless I made them, and of course, no rust AND it’s a “trapping truck” LOL

I haven't seen it on any F150s here. Seen it on several explorer hoods, though. The older expeditions used to have that on the rear hatches real bad too.

I had a '06 car that had aluminum hood and front fenders on it. Owned till last year, put over 170,000 miles on it.
Never had a problem with the paint or corrosion.

I suspect that there is nothing wrong or inherently bad about using aluminum for car bodies.
Ford just don't know what its doing.
I suspect American auto mfg's are more worried about other things than making a long lasting vehicle.

2018 F150 and a 2021 F250 , just purchased a new Bronco due to my daughters 2018 Mustang being totaled no problems here. I will say they get washed and wax frequently. Eric

80s chevys had problems with paint peeling culprit was the primer they were using.

2016 F150 with 180k+, no corrosion, rust or paint issues. My daughter has the corrosion paint bubbling on on lead edge of hood on her 2017 Explorer that apparently is fairly common

Just bought a 2016 Ford Expedition with 151K miles. Really nice shape. Black and I really like it. Have to put some step running boards on it.
