Nice fish! Trout fishing is my favorite of all of the fishing pursuits, that I have tried.

Question, what species are the fish? They look like a species of char, to me.

Brook trout. Are they native or stocked?

That’s what I thought. We have a local reservoir and one stream that was stocked with brook trout. In the particular stream they don’t grow to be more than a 5” fish. The reservoir, however, had fish that were commonly 14 - 16”.

Trout fishing is an absolute hoot and I like the creel.

yes, brook trout are not technically a "trout", but rather a char.
