Just got home from camp, wife came out to the garage and said we had another swarm call. Decent size, in a cedar shrub, five feet high. Luckily, only three of these swarms came from my bee yards, most are coming out of bee trees away from the house. I’m getting low on 5 frame nuc boxes, put this one in a ten frame. I have a bunch of folks wanting five frame nucs this season.

so is this more than usual?

I got swarm 15 yesterday probably still at least ten behind last year left one hanging at the top of a 20 foot ladder I am almost 80 years old so at 41 hives I think I have enough. But it is still hard to walk away from a nice swarm. You got a nice swarm good luck.

I’ve got more feral swarm calls in the last two spring / summers than what I got in the past. Possibly due to feral bees being able to adapt and survive from mites, that wiped out 98% of feral honey bee colonies for many years.
