I don't want to butt heads with anybody, maybe they build black bears different where you are, but I've never seen a 200 pound black bear with ears as prominent as the one pictured above.

The bear ain't much taller than the doe. Yes, a head on pic would tell more of a story. The saying still is true, big bear ears = a small bear.

I shot this boar several years ago. It's ears are out on the side of it's head, and relatively short. This bear may have weighed 200 pounds, but I wouldn't swear to it. It was an eight year old bear. The ears and head of the bear in the OP's picture are more on the top of the head and a little more prominent. It's obviously an adult bear and I would consider it worthy of taking if it's to your liking. A dead bear is awkward dead weight, and I think are probably the most likely animal to be overestimated when guessing weight.

Long, thick hair makes those northern bears look bigger. Got this pic last week here in southern Georgia......this bear will likely push 300 lbs...at least 275 lbs. Short hair on these bears. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/06/full-11603-259470-1000000752.jpg)

That's a different bear. It looks to be bigger, and well groomed compared to the scraggly haired one posted earlier. He said it was a different bear…but you’d have to be blind as a bat to not notice on your own. So I guess I’m trying to figure out where you’re going with that observation

How about we meet behind the woodshed Hoss. Pick a time and don't be late. Here is what he said. "Here is another one same location, must be a travel route, but was apparently later the same day so who knows." "another one" means another picture. This is backed up by him stating "so who knows?", as in, who knows if it the same bear or not. Lower 48ers talk different than Eskimos so I won't begrudge you for your confusion.

If you mean that you’re an idiot. I’m in my prime and I cut timber everyday for a living, there isn’t a man alive I can’t whoop in a fight. I would beat the brakes off you dude. Also “here’s another one” with a picture of what’s clearly a different bear, tells me it’s a different bear. As it would anyone who observes. But if you want to throw down, buy a plane ticket, you can usually find me bellied up to the bar at the Craig Inn on a Friday evening… You sound awesome. Next time I’m visiting my buddy up that way, I’ll stop in to the Craig Inn and buy a few for us.
Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

Wow this got rough fast. Yeah I ment another bear but I dont begrudge anyone who thought I ment another picture. I did say I know nothing about bear lol Anyhow here is one from yesterday ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/06/full-42845-259885-1000009644.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/06/full-42845-259886-1000009645.jpg) Ive had this camera up since last September and these have been the first pictures of bears on the property. 40 acres and 6 cams this is the only one with bears. I'm still thinking it must be the shortest route between two places they want to be.
Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

Dang! I even used the "smiley face" on my response. Must be the mosquitos are gettin thick up yonder. That'll set a man off I guess. No worries man. I don’t like being ornery, but backing down when someone asks me to meet behind the woodshed isn’t in my nature either lol

I was just pulling your leg. The written word doesn't convey that very well. Ironically, the less than clearly written words from the OP is what lead to our colorful engagement. lol

First bear is definitely a dime a dozen, second is a fairly decent boar.
