need a picture of him facing the camera, the distance between the ears, will help tell the age and size, the more distance the better and bigger, you could measure the tree to see how high his back is off the ground

Best guess is 200 ponds plus or minus a bit. Boar, probably younger than older. They can put on a lot of miles this time of year.

I don't want to butt heads with anybody, maybe they build black bears different where you are, but I've never seen a 200 pound black bear with ears as prominent as the one pictured above.

I can only tell by the ears. If they look small, the bear's head is large. A very large bear seems to jiggle as it walks.

I’d guess 250-300 pounds, age is hard to say, his teeth would tell that story better than a picture

Likely a bit over twice the weight of that deer.

The bear ain't much taller than the doe. Yes, a head on pic would tell more of a story. The saying still is true, big bear ears = a small bear.

In WI i'd put hid 225-250#,he will put on some good weight by fall. Breeding season so boars are on the move. Age is buy removing a small tooth and sending it in, then you would know.
Our bears put on weight and size younger then my buddys up in NW Ontario. The big difference is food, we have lots of it and easy to get, crops, berries,a corns, and on and on. We shoot 400-600 lb bears around here Taylor county but their age is 5 years and up. My buddys place bear age have been aged up to mid twenties and never get that weight. Different areas though.

I would say 300 boar. They are really cruising now. We are seeing them and a lot of sign of them now also.

I shot this boar several years ago. It's ears are out on the side of it's head, and relatively short. This bear may have weighed 200 pounds, but I wouldn't swear to it. It was an eight year old bear.
The ears and head of the bear in the OP's picture are more on the top of the head and a little more prominent. It's obviously an adult bear and I would consider it worthy of taking if it's to your liking.
A dead bear is awkward dead weight, and I think are probably the most likely animal to be overestimated when guessing weight.

Long, thick hair makes those northern bears look bigger.

Got this pic last week here in southern Georgia......this bear will likely push 300 lbs...at least 275 lbs. Short hair on these bears.

Trap Setter- My family and I have kille da number of bear and we love eating them. In my opinion, if it was bear season and I had a tag, that bear would have a very bad day. I think it's a nice one.

That’s a good bear there. Any bigger and they aren’t worth eating. I’ll take the 200-300 pound bears all day. I know where there’s a few pushing 600 pounds, but they got that way eating trash. I’d rather shoot the 200 pound berry picker than the 600 pounder that eats rotten fish and dirty diapers out of the community trash pit

That's a different bear. It looks to be bigger, and well groomed compared to the scraggly haired one posted earlier.

He said it was a different bear…but you’d have to be blind as a bat to not notice on your own. So I guess I’m trying to figure out where you’re going with that observation
