I recently purchased a recreational lot near the mouth of the Kasilof River. We have a dry cabin, outhouse and no power. We live less than 10 miles away. I am looking for a power solution for the place that is easily rechargeable and portable. No need for solar. I would like to keep it in the 500 dollar or less range. I would like to be able to power a C-pap all night, use some LED string lights in the cabin or 40ft Connex. I have a Honda 2k generator for running any power tools, I would just like something portable, something my wife could carry and use and something that would run some things overnight. We have a car jumper/inverter thing that will power string lights for a couple hours but need more longevity. Any advice would be appreciated.

A car battery will power a C-Pap for 2 to 3 days.

Thanks Keith. I do have an adapter for a cpap, however, being technologically impaired, we would like something simple with 110 outlets. Something foolproof.

At first I was picturing something like this, but that doesn't fit your requirements. Too big, too expensive, and not wife-friendly.

I have a small inverter that attaches to Dewalt 20v tool batteries. If it can run your C-pap overnight, one of those + the biggest tool battery you can find. This would also have other benefits, like a multi-purpose battery.

So for example, if you already have a major brand of cordless power tools, buy something like this and see how long it will run your C-pap during the day.

We have a Jackery for this type of thing. There are equally as good options at far less cost. Jackery is pricey, worth it, but still pricey for the version you'd need to do what you need. It has the solar option, which we haven't really needed to use yet. We can recharge off our generator or shore power.

Anker is a similar brand that is a lower cost.

Car battery alone will only last you one night for your cpap. Does your Cpap have a humidifier also? That uses a little more wattage. With out charging your battery daily you will struggle to keep the cpap on over night.

I think I am leaning towards a Cummins/Onan 600-watt battery pack after several hours of keyboarding. Most importantly, they are available locally. They are similar to the Jackery, which I see advertised everywhere. I use my cpap stripped down and am mostly looking for something stand-alone to take on road trips or haul to the cabin for lighting.

That is a great deal and would be a great option. I'm going to add it to our list of things to check out.

I have a one as back up power for my cabin, and the kids use it in their 5th wheel to run the ac at night.

I borrowed an anker solix "portable" generator to try out on my camper. Only running the fridge on propane which requires 12 volts also, an outside led light bulb, light here and there inside, led also water pump a couple times and charged my kids rc car battery once. It lasted from 99% charge 18 hrs. I normally charge up a deep cycle battery and use it Friday night till Sunday eve with all of the above on. So anker $3000 generator vs a $150 battery wasn't hard to figure out. Plus the generator weighs alot more than just a battery, its a fancy battery bank, inverter with a digital screen.
I hate lugging batteries around. Going to do a solar panel setup to charge the battery soon. Something wife proof, just turn stuff on.
