Did not want to hijack and wanted to share a real experience.

The school that my children go to qualified (due to average family income) for free lunches for ALL students. This has been the case for years dating back to precovid years. You read my post correct all kids regardless of the families ability to pay for food get it free. We are very rural not inner city.

To make it crazier during covid when school was closed and school lunches were not being made they sent the STUDENTS bridge cards (food stamp cards). That is correct they sent the money they would have spent on lunches at school to EVERY student. Each of my daughters received a letter addressed to THEM with a bridge card with it. We threw ours in a drawer and forgot about them. As you all know schools were opened and closed several times during the pandemic. Each time school was closed money was put on the cards. About six months after the world started back up. We found the cards I told my wife to check the balance. EACH card had almost $800 dollars on them. These were not requested but sent without parental consent directly to our children.

Now that is a crap state teaching the next generation to put their hand out and sit on their rears! In MI our leader is an idiot!

Yeah, that’s nonsense.

Just reduce the amount of school taxes that are due. Then we don’t pay that. Or save it for later when the come begging for school taxes to be raised.

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

Gordon Ramsey, maybe…

Just like that check that went out to some folks. Not sure how much it was, called it stimulus or something. I didn’t get that check but I remember my taxes went up by a little over that much that year. Nonsense

LOL I remember when I was just early 20's, married and had a son.
Nixon had just claimed a shortage of everything, coffee went from 10 cents a cup to over 40 cents over night.
Got laid off at work, no unemployment checks for 12 weeks!
Everything was back logged .
Only had $ 76 left in our checking account.
We tried everything we could think of, jobs were very hard to find.
We went to the local welfare office for food stamps, cost us $ 76 to get $ 84 worth of food stamps.
Never asked the government for anything since.
People I worked with before being laid off , told me they never paid anything for food stamps, and got $180 a month.
I lived in a non giving county, I guess .

We have met the enemy and the enemy is us!
