In NE close to the rez they feed the kids during summer too. They fix alot and if it doesn't get picked up it goes in the trash. They told my daughter in law to come get it or it will go in the garbage. They are far from poor.
On another note, in Wounded Knee South Dakota (Porcupine) the school board gave gift cards to parents as an incentive to get their kids to attend school. How do you spose that went.

In the early 2000s I lived in a bad part of the city. Just down the road was a corner store owned by Muslims. Every time I was in there, there would be someone selling their food stamps. The owner would run the card for, say $200 and give the card holder $100. Muslims pay better than you I guess Vink.

There would also often be people in there selling stolen goods. I mean, they didn't even try to hide what was going on. Guy would walk up and dump 40 packages of batteries on the counter and the owner would count them up and pay him a dollar a pack.

I have yet to see a government " RUN " program that worked .

Free lunch school kid here…and breakfast. All the handicap kids(retards), in the district got bussed to my school to be in one class. They arrived early ,as did I. My Mom was teacher assistant, librarian, lunch lady, secretary all rolled into one. So me and my siblings ate breakfast with the handicap kids. Long story short, picture the bar scene in Star Wars, that was breakfast. Some kids were(there was only 6-7 of em total) more or less retarded than others, but it was batdung bonkers to say the least and always fun. I know they were free lunchers, but so was I. We were lucky to get to eat at that school together.

Feed the kid and teach him or her to depend on the government for food. A perfect communist society.

We wouldn't teach that. A large part of a good education is imparting morals and values. Children need to learn the value of work in school, especially if they aren't learning it at home. Children should feel some disappointment about how their parents are failing, but should not feel that is attached to them. We want to bring children up, not down. Children need good nutrition to develop their brains and stay healthy. People with poorly developed brains, don't make good workers and are much more likely to become criminals, because they have very poor impulse control. Unhealthy people can't work well enough to be productive members of society.

Think of Social Services budget and what would be lost if any social problems were solved. Food for thought.
