Debt ceiling should be gone, both sides use it for ransom to get even more spending.Wow ok. So I assume if Nancy Pelosi had volunteered that idea of eliminating it you would support it just as enthusiasticly...

pafoxman, tell it to those who are fighting him tooth and nail...I'd bet money that if he thought he could get a 25 percent cut in EVERY sector of government through Congress, he'd sign it.
but wishing on one hand and crapping on the other doesn't get you very far, does it?

your gripe lies with those who will NEVER decrease spending...read: "Every Democrat (and most Republicans)"

Good Luck to you, Mr. Quixote!

Yip! Yip! Grrrrrrrr.......

It's not right and I'm not arguing. Just calling out blatant hypocrisy. I guess you'd give your 14 year old a credit card with no spending limit than. Ok, you do you

Name me one time you heard a politician say.....
We can't do that, it'll put us over the debt ceiling.

All it did was got the ones that happen to be in power to agree to more spending from the side withholding their votes to raise it. Plain and simple

I'll name a lot of times the ceiling was reached and spending had to stop until an agreement was reached. Did it ultimately stop the bleed? No. But it did bring the nations attention to the issue with the threat of lots of people missing a paycheck. Is that not better than zero accountability? Of course it is. Wrong. It was because the budget didn't pass Had nothing to do with reaching the deat ceiling The deat ceiling has been reached many different times and it never shut down the government

Really?? So, using your logic, even if I think both candidates are unqualified, I need to pick one, never criticize anything they do, support them in every way. Nope, sorry. I can think for myself, I'm not a sheep like you are
you're deranged. I PROUDLY voted for President Trump. and I did one better...as a TrumpForce47 Captain, I knocked on doors to get out the vote for him. what did YOU do for your (as yet un-named) Candidate of choice? oh, yeah...yip, yip, yip!

let's not forget that CONGRESS (NOT the President!) does the spending. That's not entirely true, they are all in it together. The president has the power of the veto. This bill sucks

Wetdog, first rule of correcting someone is be right. The government cannot borrow any more money once ceiling is reached. Of course SS payments etc don't stop. This thread is about our national debt btw. If I'm wrong, give me the year it happened I won't hold my breath waiting on your reply
