Kids are compelled to attend school, its not an option, you cannot force someone to do something, often against their will while also denying them food. Either make school optional or provide food while the kids are forced to attend.

Absolutely. If a parent cannot send their kid lunch money or a bag lunch, they have no right having that child.

I think free lunches is the least of our worries where our money is being spent. Not like its our money anyway, if they dont have enough theu just print more.

Of all the things to worry about in the world I feel like worrying about some tax dollars going to feed kids that do without and come from circumstances that many can’t comprehend, says a lot about you as a person.

I actually just returned from a a grade 8 camping trip for three days, about 120 kids. Some of those kids ate like starving wolves. Now they’ll go home to trying to survive for the weekend. I can’t imagine thinking I was a good guy but having a problem with our tax dollars giving them some watermelon. Lol

seems conservatives talk from both sides of the mouth on this one. If it's their kid social services wants to take away because they discipline, etc, they are against the system. If it's someone else's kid, different story. It should never be easy to separate kids from parents and there better be a darn good reason. I've known kids not having the best home situation but mom was trying, it's not always so black and white.

What's the actual affect though? Kid doesn't have a lunch at school and a cop comes and knocks on your door and ask to inspect the fridge? We start pulling kids out of homes because mom and dad leave early for work and the kid forgets the lunch to many times?

The kids are forced to attend, the parents are forced to send the kids, if you force someone to be under your care your obligated to feed them

That scenario is BS.Parents getting free food,,but wont make their kids a lunch SHOULD get a knock at the door.
