Hats off to and bless any WW 2 vets still alive for sure the greatest generation. Vets today protesting cuts to vet benefits in DC a real slap in the face and hard to believe how hypocritical about honoring vets and cutting services.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Wouldn't it be easier, and cheaper, for the government to just give the veterans healthcare through an insurance provider and eliminate the VA altogether? Most every vet I know has horror stories about the VA. Seems it would be much better if they could just go to a doctor of their choosing and hand over an insurance card....

Agree and just show your ID at any provider for care. There are some exceptions with combat vets with disabilities and PTS maybe care providers with combat experience or that really understand the problems. I doubt the protest will change much but things sure turned when vets protested after WW1 and Vietnam war. Its absurd to spend money on a military parade when vets need help and the country is trying to cut the budget and deficit. WW 2 vets were incredible warriors and it still amazes me what they accomplished in some of those battles.

There are a lot more absurd things that the U.S. spends money on than military parades.
