[quote=PAskinner][quote=HobbieTrapper]Congratulations on being the exception. Why assume everyone with a positive story is the exception?
Because he would be, here.
The school will feed everybody but it’s a small percentage utilizing it. It’s a smaller percentage of those that understand self reliance and continue life without expectations that the government should be doing more to take care of them.
Did I answer your question? Your third sentence sounds like a guess, not facts.

My moms dad my grandfather died when my mom was 11. They had it rough. Raised a garden, had chickens. Very little money. Gramma would sometimes put sandwich's of lard with a little sugar sprinkled on it for their school lunch. Her and her sisters did all right. I remember those brown sugar and butter sandwiches for dessert when mom had nothing else available. I remember seeing some of the kids had actual zip lock sandwich bags, rich kids, I thought!

[quote=Snyde901] And what conduct is that? My dad passed when we were young & programs like this helped my mom raise us even though she worked 2 jobs. I worked my whole life & now have my own business & pay more taxes than alot of people make. Im fine with the small amount of those that go towards feeding kids, im more concerned about the huge amount that goes to feeding the moochers in DC. So again what conduct does feeding a kid promote?
That's exactly what he said. lol I think many people are under the misconception that taxes taken "for the children", actually go towards the children.

I wonder why there is a generation protesting for the government to pay off student loans. Must have been all that Roundup that farmers have been using on the food supply. They probably got that mentality from watching big businesses and banks Wall Street. Get bailed out Two wrongs don't make a right and parents should feed their kids. Kids don't get to pick their parents

Having lived close to the bone all my adult life, I gotta say I never let my children get a reduced or free school lunch even though they certainly would have qualified for it. I can sum it all up with one old country quip......."It's a poor biddy hen that won't scratch for her own chicks".

Exceptions can always be found, it’s good you feel positive about it. Your back and gave me a thankful reminder of why I should ignore you too. Anyone who can't separate feeding youngins from a broken system is either broken or flat out stupid. …. Before too long you won’t be able to see anything on here lol … I’ve never ignored anyone even though I’ve seen plenty I don’t agree with …. Seems like a weak move lol

You guys do what you think you can live with me if I know a kid will eat I’m not complaining. I’ve been paying school taxes my whole life if you think feeding or not feeding a kid is even a decision then we are not the same.

I'm good with giving a kid free school breakfast and lunch. I want them to learn and hopefully contribute to society someday. Odds might be low but being fed surely increases them--even if slightly.
It's the deadbeat adults who can either get a job or starve to death. Getting free stuff their whole life(including the school lunches)is exactly why the parents are deadbeats to begin with. Its become a way of life for these people. They come to expect it all.

Kids should not pay the price for lousy parents you never know the outcome of a kid. You can bet on the outcomes but you would lose more than you think.
Worked in juvenile corrections for almost 14 years the ones you think will fail succeed the most gifted ones failed some had normal lives some died playing the game.
Even the transients that go down the interstate get a roller dog and a coffee but never cash.
