Found 2 bitty possums wandering around the yard during the day, maybe 5,6" long, and they can squeeze through the bars on a cage trap...Seems awful small to be on their own...

Guessing mom got killed?, can they live on their own at that stage?.... not concerned, just curious....

I've never seen them that small. Just a little bigger on Mama's back before

This is as small as they can be without nursing off the mom in my experience, even at this size the survival rate was 50% so 4 out of 8. They still need heat just a desk light will work and to be fed.

They grow up fast

Miss Daisy wasn't interested in raising orphans, haven't seen them in a couple days, I'm afraid they won't make it...in other news, there's a death smell coming from under the deck, I'm guessing Mom is under there...

Opossum moms can't count. Once they're too big for the pouch it's hold on tight or get left. They're terrible mothers in that regard.

Cute until they start messing up your coyote sets.

Nah, they are just ugly. Period.

Its easy to get the little ones to use a litter box. They seem to want to on their own. They make decent pets. They are known for constantly grooming themselves more so than a house cat.
