I’m probably going to start storing my cage traps on shelves outside. I’ll put a tarp over them to keep most of the rain off. A storage shed would be great just not in the plans yet. Any suggestions? Thanks

It works. It even would lessen the smell on the traps, but of course they wear faster. How about a small roof over them? All the benefits, without the wear?

A tarp will work just fine. It will keep leaves and other debris out.
I store mine outside and have no issues. If worried, spray paint.

A shed would be nice. But room is valued for other things.

Hope this helps

We have stored ours indoors for all the years we used cages. Close to 50 years now. They are just as good as new, barring some minor wire damage that is repaired quickly. I would cover them with at least a tarp as suggested but let them breathe and keep off the ground. Find some old pallets or build something to allow air flow under and around them.

High humidity down south, just keep them off the ground & covered

I have them on plastic shelves and will cover with a tarp until I get a roof put over them.

Most of my cages have been stored uncovered outside for 27 years. A few older ones are rusted, but they all work just fine.
