Do the lure makers want the essence removed from the pods? And do the empty pods have any value?

Yes the essence should be removed and bottled.
I've seen drained pods for sale on trap shed. I've also rendered them down for lure.

The drains pods certainly have a spot on my line. They’re also great for tucking into hard to find spots on people’s vehicles.

I heard back in the day it was a common prank to lay the drained pods over the muffler.

No good. It’ll stink for a bit but will eventually cook off. Hidden inside the interior will write the vehicle off……lol

I think I know where to catch 8 skunks. My trapping buddy has some trail cams on some of our trapping ground. He stopped by today and showed me a trail cam video of mama skunk and her 7 offspring. He knows where the den is.

I have heard from a reliable source that a 1/2 cc or less loaded into a syringe and inserted into the rubber door molding into the interior won first place in such an event.

We're waiting until Nov to start trapping.
Since we can't trap most road right aways I'm going to trap culverts on public hunting areas. I have my county plat maps and I will be checking out every culvert. I might even pre stake those areas. I have100s of earth anchors and that may be the way to go.

The later the better to start on skunks if you are after a higher volume of essence. Dec. Jan. will be your best months to get that but you will also be dealing with the weather and the skunks in and out of the den during the weather cycles.

And I just called Moscow Hide and Fur and they aren't buying any skunks.
So, I guess It's FHA or Groney.
I did hear a rumor that groney was hanging it up.
