Tatiana touched on an overlooked element related to our oral health. The heart. Bacteria from chronic gum disease get into the bloodstream causing inflammation. If you don't take care of your teeth the risk of heart disease and strokes are dramatically increased.

It's a shame that medicare doesn't cover dental. Besides saving lives it would probably save the system money in the long run.

Just read an article that "they" think bacteria from the mouth helps cause Alzheimers... who knows, but it can cause heart problems.
Ortho guy here makes sure you get a dental clearance before replacement parts are installed, bacteria from the blood can infect implants....not good.

Teeth are overrated, I don’t have many molars left on one side and still chew just fine, and still do most chewing on that side out of habit. Your gums toughen up.

The choice is a balancing problem that must consider the persons health, the functional value of the tooth, the esthetics value of the tooth, the dentist's skills in the treatment of that tooth, the patients desire's concerning the tooth (his personal value of the tooth), the condition of the rest of the teeth and ETC. Everyone is different and has different opinions of their teeth and every tooth is different......jk I haven't done any dentistry in over 20 years as I lost function of my right eye in the '80s, I guess that is 40+ years ago

I had one done about 10 years ago. The worst part was it cost a bit and the time it took to get it all done. If I remember right, it was a few trips to the dentist to get everything finished.
