Was is brother in laws stuff . I don't know much about anvils, thinking on wire brushing it clean and grinding the casting marks off . Should be a good one to beat traps back in shape.

That looks like a old Peter Wright 95# but may be lighter....Should be some markings on it somewhere.

Look closely at it for markings befor you start grinding/sanding on it.

Cotton , don't sell it. They are getting harder and harder to find for sale at a good price. That one should clean up real nice , it doesn't look like it has seen much hard use.

went and rolled it around on the porch some , it might be 95# lol didn't see any markings on it but it is real dirty.
will get it out to shop and on the work table for cleaning then maybe can see any marks. calling for rain this weekend be a good job to get done .

I would just use it and let the use clean it up…leave the protective coating of rust and grime on it…

Probably worth hundreds of dollars now, clean it up, not so much anymore.
You can get the surface rust off without grinding it then put some penetrating oil on it.

Thinking on just taking a wire brush and give a good scrubbing. Looks like brother in law poured oil on it and years of dust and dirt stuck to it.
