Been out doing some pan fishing. Realized I'm low on my favorite color jig heads. Got my toys out this morning made up couple hundred 1/8 and 1/16 jigs. Lead maybe the boogie man to some folks. I been making my own sinkers and jigs since grade school. Thought some folks might appreciate seeing my mess.

Don't take to long to knock out a couple 100 once get moving.

Get hooks in, with these little heads is important that mold is good and warmed up.

Get lead poured right in center of the shot hole helps get good fill.

Not sure of the count I try to just keep moving once get pouring. Believe should be just over 300 in this pile??

This is how I preheat the jigs before they get dipped in powder coat.

How they look once they are powder coated. I will clean the eyes on these and bake them in the wife's air fryer to harden finish them. Not really Lol I have an old toaster oven run them in..

That was my morning making Baits. Need more because of losses catching lunch.

lead is an issue in poorly vented shops where you exceed it's melting point significantly and start putting it int he air.

as a solid keep it out of your food and little risk

as a liquid the risk is a lot greater from the temperature than the material unless you get it over about 1100 degrees then it has some risk of inhalation

most melts about 750-850 and you keep the pot at that nice workable temp.

that size crappie , head off , gut out , scale , cut some slits in the sides , a little seasoning and fry , the tail is like a potato chip , they eat really well that way.

I find my go to a jig for so much fishing , chartreuse is my color of choice

GCP

I would have to say that chartreuse is my next choice. Be lying if I said I made this whole batch pink. I actually have several plastic trays full of diffent colors. For spring walleye I have one box dedicated to shades of purple and blue. The pink and chartreuse in this size, are my go to for pan fishing. I do have a wide selection of colors in 1/4 and 3/16 even few in 3/8. If I can I try to do most my jig fishing at 1/4 and under.

3/16 is probably my favorite size but I have them from 1/32 to a 1/2 but mostly under 3/8 are what get used.

not a lot of colors in my jig box , a few other than chartreuse but mostly that.
