What has happened in MN is strategic and not accidental. Imported lots of Somalian refugees. In return they have formed gangs and run around stabbing and shooting people at ball games and high school graduations. Often using weapons altered to shoot full auto.

Castle doctrine would solve a lot of our problems. Of course the Left doesn’t want citizens being able to protect themselves without the help of law enforcement that is 25 minutes away in greater MN.

Started bigly better than 40 years ago when the catholic charities and Lutheran brotherhood brought loads of Hmong people in. Not that they are bad people, just unknowing participants in an ominous trend.

Hmong were allies in US conflicts. There relocating often centered around persecution because of just that. The few I have interacted with I would trust with my life. They embraced their new home and despite cultural differences make pretty good neighbors.

None of this story makes sense. If the guy is a right wing nut job, why did he target Senator John Hoffman first? He had 70 people on his hit list. Hoffman's a moderate democrat, theres far more dangerous democrats in Minnesota, in fact the vast majority are far left nut jobs. Hoffman and Representative Hortman were the two democrats that stopped money going to illegal's healthcare. Why would he target them? Doesnt make sense.
Hoffman's been no friend of trappers, he was the author of anti-trapping bills in the senate the last few years but didnt introduce one this year. He said he has no plans to bring one up in the future either. He is a pleasant guy, seems reasonable, just on the wrong side. He was reportedly shot 6 times and his wife 5. Its a miracle hes alive.

Boy, have you got that right! The Hmong I know are hard workers. They are so happy and proud to be Americans. Then there are those who want to change America to be like the country they ran away from because it was so bad.

Minnesota was a mess long before this shooting. Where else do you have life long gun owners, hunters, trappers voting for democrats?

That narrative is most likely incorrect.

I think if the manifesto revealed the shooter to be a right wing extremist, it's content would already have been released. It took 2 years of court action for the press in Tn to get the Covenant School shooter, trans Audrey Hale, released. I want to see the manifesto and the list of approx 70 targets the shooter had. All the "No Kings" fliers in the shooter's car tends to make me think he was a leftist even though his reported professional work might suggest otherwise. We will just have to see what the facts show.

I dont think this one, or at least it appears to be, can be shoehorned straight hard R or hard D.

We have him appointed to a board by two different D governors, that could be either as long as he wasn't extreme R.
However, we have the wife serving at least one internship under Walz. That's in solid D territory.

Yet he is supposedly an evangelical christian who did some missionary work, that at first blush says R or at a minimum C but we all know of the rainbow demominations. Anyone have a report on just which strain of evangelical? Considering the state I would assume some sort of lutheran strain, and most of those are pretty weak on social issues. He supposedly was on a mission to proselytize muslims and that seems to lean to the R or C side as the L or D seem to embrace all as they are.

Then we have the anti abortion stance which has become an R or C issue though it really isn’t as many L have been turned off by the extreme position of the D that calls for until or even after birth.

His work history shows a desire for entrepreneurship and business formation which is an R or C trait as is the desire to provide security or protection. Yet security can also mean authoritarianism which is currently a trait of the D though it is at all times a tempting danger for both. However the pattern over time shows a scattershot pattern with time in the food service, ministry, and security which to me is evidence of a non focused, or possibly, troubled mind.

Probably the biggest marker is the NO KINGS material. But is it a red herring? At most it says he is cognizent of current events. How it fits with an anti-abortion animus defies logic as NO KINGS is anti Trump and Trump is the most pro life to date. Obviously, were he anti Trump that would place him of the L side if not full D. Possibly one of the disaffected R that are so puzzling to everyone. (BC do you know this guy?) But according to a room mate he voted for Trump.

If I had to take a shot at it I'd say one of those midwest C living D voting folks that puzzle us all to this day.

I will opine that by mental instability alone that places him solidly left of center as right minded folk are documented as being more mentally stable.

That might be the plea his lawyer will take as being mentally unstable and not responsible for his actions.
