Can and or where can I get stronger acidity vinegar. ?

Amazon sells 5%, 30% and up to 45% that I saw. Walmart sells 5%. I think any big retailer would sell it through third party vendors.

Watch out for less than 5%. I've seen white vinegar on the shelves that's 4% and that matters in pickling recipes as the recipes call for 5%.

I use the 30% in a tank sprayer to kill moss growing between my pavers.

Vinegar is incredibly easy to make, if you have fruit o fruit scraps. Basically just let fruit sit in a container with cheese cloth or paper towels on top, to keep fruit flies out.

costco 7.00 for 6 gallon box or aldi has it to i thing it was 3.49 a gallon i use alot of it for pickles and eggs

I use vinegar to descale my on-demand hot water heater. I flush it every 18 months.

We just descaled ours on Wednesday.

It is excellent for removing rust from steel, including traps.

White vinegar should be higher acidity than that but maybe depends on the batch.

I noticed some 30% on the shelf the other day at Tactor Supply.

I had a spray bottle of vinegar on my tool cart to use as a "Liquid Wrench" in a machine shop!

Fifty four years ago started back to Land homesteading . Made our own apple cider vinegar ! Did not realize the strength of Acidity............. How about I give a real-life factoid about vinegar and caustic soda (lye). I was going to do this on the “trapping only” board a while ago but it got past me. How many of you use lye to clean your traps? Raise your hands! How many of those who use lye neutralize their traps with vinegar after cleaning with lye? Raise your hands? LOL How many of you have “old” traps tha have weak springs? My post may explain why older traps can have weak springs but not so much with traps today. How did the old timers clean their traps? Maybe with lye eh?

Most of you probably never heard of stress corrosion cracking but caustic(lye) attacks steel that has/is under stress such as trap springs and anything else that was formed by cold or hot working (welding) the steel. Steel has microscopic surface cracks especially those parts that are cold-formed like trap springs where stress is very high and caustic attacks the grain structure through those cracks weakening the springs sort of like death by a million cuts or driving a million microscopic wedges.

As a former welder in Dow and especially during winter we’d be called in at all hours of the night & morning to repair caustic line failures. These failures would occur up in the pipe racks 25’ in the air because the heat tracing would fail (caustic soda froze just below room temperature and the caustic product in the steel pipelines would freeze and burst the lines darn quick. Nothing like getting a call at 2am to come in and repair a frozen 4’ caustic line at -5*. I’d cut the line apart and weld in a “pup” piece of new pipe but I had to wash the inside and outside of the pipe with vinegar where I was going to weld to neutralize the caustic soda so that the heat of my welding arc would not cause cracking of the weld! Got it? Steel, caustic (lye) heat, & stress(welding causes stress or the same as cold-worked stress) causes cracking and by using vinegar to neutralize the area, stops it from happening!

Oh, I almost forgot to finish the story. Shows you what age will do for you.
After I’d finish the welds the fitters would go get the stress-reliving machine and get it hooked-up and running, stress reliving my welds. Welding puts stress in a weldment when it cools by contraction and caustic(lye) attacks zones of stress so stress-reliving the welds is necessary. Steel, heat, caustic (lye), stress causes stress corrosion cracking regardless of the speed as it attacks the steel unless neutralized with vinegar!!!

One time in my welding career I saw stress corrosion cracking up close and personal. A fitter told me he had washed my weld area with vinegar so I started welding a flange on the end of a 4” steel pipe line. I actually could see a crack forming in the back of my puddle as it cooled at the leading edge of my slag following my weld.

Being a welder in Dow back in the day you learned all about caustic soda (lye) and stress corrosion cracking AND vinegar!!!
