Now I'm concerned. My favorite nephew was teaching HALO jumps at Fort Carson and due to be mustered out August of 2025, after 25 years he was ready for a different life. He was ordered to report to Fort Bragg this past week and can't tell any of the family why.

I pray he and all the other US Servicemen don’t end up over there in another foreign war that has absolutely no benefit to the USA.

I'd be curious to hear how many on here dont believe Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons and would use them when acquired.

Because for me that's the deciding factor.

I figure for those that want to b hands off you either dont believe they are trying to aquire nuclear weapons or they wouldn't use them if they have got them (which takes a lot of faith considering the consequences) or you dont think it would effect us if they did use them

When told someone wants you dead, over and over, you might want to believe them, Heck, they strap bomb vests on their children to take out as many infidels as they can, They fund terrorism all over, A nuclear weapon would be right up their ally, Why trust them to suddenly make a rational decision?

They are a deterrence to war. I believe only the U.S. has used them. Countries that have nukes will not be militarily invaded, because the other side does not want to be nuked.

Having them can act as a deterrent to others of attacking you. And if you are dealing limp wristed leaders of super power nations u can use nuclear weapons to leverage "financial aid"

All these POS countries should be screaming they have nukes then.

So if having nukes are for prevention of invasion. Why would another country stop another from having them?

Why would one country stop another country from having nuclear weapons? Are you serious? You can't figure out a probable answer for that yourself? LOL quite an exposing answer of thought process, saying one country with nukes ends another's chances of having them because they wish to invade them latter on, most larger countries invade way before nukes are even discussed, makes no sense to invade a wasted country of no use with nuke residue all over it !

There are several countries that have nukes who don't go around destroying progress on others having them simply of the fact that it would immediately cause such a cataclysm to this world no one would be ever the same or anything else !

Yet just having them keeps things in perspective that no one really wants to used them until some small country, always feeling the need for attention [Iran] decides to start building them for at first reason peaceful means only until they need to show that they now have the capability to use them in tactual warfare after all. Which immediately threatens their worst enemy !

Well I could imagine what their first strike could be knowing the history of Iran and Israel, so the big boys gather up and talk and decide who is going to watch who and how far it goes before more words of decisions are made, while the little guy grow's so threatened as to take the step of destroying that hidden fact they knew all along !!

Thus setting up more showman's ship of capability which is really lacking since they only have ground control and no air support.

This just one example of what others might, could or would do, making your reasoning abit tainted of progressive thinking !
