Can somebody refer me to a step by step explanation or video on how to setup the kill snare shown in the sticky post with all pictures?
Thanks
Colin

Entanglement will get it done in most cases no matter what type of lock you use.

that website has nothing which shows how to build the snare. I need a snare for squirrels.
I have wire, washers, crimping and rivet tools, adjustable clamps and drills.
Please, help me build a half decent snare.

Go to trapper tips, I believe there's a good explanation with pictures...

Absolutely, even with a 2.5” deer stop and I liked a 10’ extension for a good running lunge!
I used Slims & Gregerson locks btw.

That’s way too much garbage for squirrels. That’s for bigger stuff. Just get a roll of snare wire and hang a bunch of em. I get all mine in 120s but snares would be waaay cheaper.

the pic above is much more advanced and I hope somebody can point to a step-by-step instruction. the simple snare did not catch anything in 1 day.

Make sure you got the right size loop for squirrels. I made them just like that but made the eye by hand when I was a kid. But I never set one snare, you’ll get lots of misses. I’d hang 20 or 30. A 2x6 board across 2 trees where the old folks would hang there geese from at the shack is where I got most. 4 or 5 snares across the top with some peanut butter in a couple spots worked.
The other snares like in your pic is a whole different ball game.

is the snare inside the box? I have a very similar box that I built for electrocuting mice.

If target is a squirrel, I'd try a 110 body grip first.
