I guess you aren't gonna answer me. I really was just curious. I had to go back to look for your question. But yes, we talked about the dangers of expressing oneself. We started the whole talk off by talking about how the amendments in the bill of rights were directly related to problems they had living under the king. To relate directly to the first amendment, the king have your head removed if you complained to much, or went to the wrong church, or wrote a negative news article, so they explicitly wrote those protections into the bill of rights. As far as the danger.......it really ain't that bad. Driving anywhere is far, far more dangerous than attending a protest. 1200 kids, 3 every day, die in car crashes. About 25 people, of all ages, were killed in protests in the last couple years (depending on which source you look at). Parents put their kids in far more danger by driving them anywhere, than taking them to a protest. The statistics clearly those that. This protest was at 1030 am. Everyone knows that the slovenly leftists don't get up until lat least 230 in the afternoon. Had it been at 1030 at night, then of course we wouldn't have gone.

Story time I guess. The long of the shbasic function checkort of it, is that I had gone shooting with the kids that day, so cleaned guns that night. I stuck a loaded mag in my AR, and racked a round as a . I set it down in the corner to open the closet, dog comes bounding in and jumps up, I move out of the way because I don't want to be jumped on, he lands on gun, gets leg tangled in sling, freaks out and starts dragging gun across the room, I jump on the gun, grabbing it by the grip, finger goes in trigger guard, gun goes bang. Dog gets knicked on the chin and the chest, except there no such thing as just a knick from a .223 at point blank. Dog was hurt bad, but recovered fine, valuable lessons learned ,idiocy to never be repeated (never ever let a loaded gun out of my immediate control, don't even let the dog in around guns that aren't in my immediate control, don't chase a falling gun, purchase snap caps, etc etc etc. Worst night of my life by far. I don't mind telling the story. Others can not make my idiotic mistakes. Really? You mean after the basic function check , you didn't unload it? Amazing , you and BC belong together!

Thanks LG. I agree protests aren't incredibly dangerous now, but I would not be surprised to see them get increasingly violent in the coming years.

Read through this post fast. Your home school project was taking kids to a protest and anti trump was the only one available? maybe I over simplified? If I did not than that is just stupid. I think you got it partially right. Loosegoose wanted to go to the anti-Trump protest. He couldn't find a babysitter, so kids had to be carried along.

If the only protest that was in my area was gay pride parades I would not take my kids for the sake of protesting. Why people dislike homeschooling. Good thing turned into brainwashing by the brainwashed!
Add that this is exactly what college tries to shove in kids heads. So why home school? I am stunned reading this crap!

…. You’re a weird dude loose goose lol This is true. It's hard for some people when other people don't think and act exactly like them. Some folks just can't handle it. Trapping Thomas, your simplification is correct. We want d to participate in a protest, so we started off with a small local protest with silly signs, and then attended a large protest with a progun sign. In both cases, it just happens that anti-trump protests were what was happening. Not my choosing. Swamp wolf.....my kids are old enough to stay home alone. My apologies if my teaching methods offend you (not really, I don't care if anyone doesn't like it).

Rather than taking your kids to attend some protest you say you really didn't care to be at, wouldn't it have been a better teaching moment to have them come up with something they thought was wrong enough to protest against and then make signs to protest that? Maybe teach them to think for themselves rather than follow a crowd? You should pull your kids out of school, start homeschooling them, and do it that way. Or have them watch a protest on TV as someone else suggested. Or take them fishing (though that's not really a first amendment lesson.). That's the beauty of homeschooling.....we can all do it our own way.

I would never bring my kids to a protest just to teach them to protest regardless what the protest is for. Just dumb! Literally ridiculous!

I voted for homeschooling. Now think that I need to vote against it. Kids tend not to listen to the politics of school teachers, but kids that are homeschooled can't ever escape from their parents. WHERE'S THE LIKE BUTTON?
