According to this article he was a minister against abortion, was targeting pro-abortion politicians, and voted for Trump.

The reports and purported photos of the fliers do not show the type of damage one would expect were they pulled off of a bulletin board. No tape, staples, or creases. They also appear to be all the same as is just run off the copier like one would expect of a fresh batch out to be posted.

That's what the local news stations are saying here. His wife was detained in Onamia, MN. In her car they found passports, weapons, ammo, and money. I think she was released. Was he making a run for the border? That was the latest news report. Not sure why they didn't hold her for more questioning when this sounds so suspicious.

What doesn't make sense is if the shooter is republican why did he target Senator Hoffman first? He had a hit list of over 70 people. Hoffman is more of a moderate democrat. He just voted against his party to not give money to illegals for healthcare. Why would the shooter target Hoffman first? And Hortman was the only democrat to vote against her party in the House. Why would he target her second? Theres far more dangerous democrats in Minnesota than those two.
