It's narrow in scope but I am going to agree with BCs point about some abusing the system and collecting disability money when they could work. I've seen able bodied men and women use their EBT card to by fancy box beef and seafood off the Schwans truck while spending their entire day in front of huge (YUGE) TVs playing video games. FYI they all had hordes of children in the house because the more puppies you can crank out the more benefits you collect.
It is disgusting.

We know how to make these valuable workers legal. Send them back to their country and then have them come back through proper channels. Same as all those before them that did it the legal way. What is so hard for you to understand about that?
Ol dad Why don't you take it up with President Trump? He's the one that did the 180 degree turn.

I guess I will never understand how you can break the law by sneaking into this country illegally. Then have the right to a day in court before you can be deported. How do you know they're here illegally, without going to court? (unless they're caught by border patrol in the act, at the border). We believe in innocent until proven guilty here, this isn't a commie country where we punish people based on assumptions. They don't need a multi-day jury trial, 5 minutes in front of an immigrant judge should suffice. But without basic due process, you have no way to know they're here illegally, other than just assuming, which is commie nonsense. (Again, I'm not referring to illegals caught in the act of crossing the border by border patrol. Those people can just get shipped right back over). I'm not sure I understand the difference between those caught in the act of crossing the border, and catching one halfway through the country with no drivers license, no rent receipts, no social security card, no valid ID of any kind? I also don't think sending them back from wherever they get picked up is punishing them. This is no easy task deciding who gets to stay and who goes. But if you're working for cash, or not working at all then this seems reasonable to deport them. Here in Northwest Colorado we have a very well established group of MS-13, and Latin King members that have ties to Mexican organized crime and are arrested regularly for dealing drugs. They come back fast. This is a problem, especially the drugs. How do you deal with this?

Birth certificate would be a clue, passport, past SS activity is another if you really think you’re invisible just apply for SS benefits the questions about you that they ask and know the answers to already is scary. You get a work history from SS that goes back to day one right? Do you ever see beyond the tip of your nose dude? [/quote]
I know, I know, the answer is NO.

Ol dad Why don't you take it up with President Trump? He's the one that did the 180 degree turn. There is probably a plan B down the road but maybe they need to separate the wheat from the chaff first or they could leave and come back the proper way so lots of no drama options if you look forward enough. If they do create a shortage then just create a program based on that need at least they would be vetted better for criminals and health issues. You can bet we will be eradicating the same diseases we once had under control again.

....if they work in ag, hospitality, food sector. Apparently Americans were NOT lining up to replace this cheap labor, and the powers that be realized they were crippling these industries. a directive has been issued to stop ICE efforts in these industries. My family got to this country in the 1600s, I guess I am illegal because the didn't go thru Ellis Island......go ahead and try to deport me o

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.
