Shook hands with the flu last week. Spent a day or so laid up in bed. First time I've watched TV in a few years. Found a series on Amazon video called Into the Wild Frontier. A documentary about various mountain men, mostly those who were instrumental in the American Fur Company. I thought the show had good narriation, but the reenactment was mediocre and best. I suppose for a city dweller it gave some perspective. Learned a few things that I hadn't heard before. I wonder how many miles Jedediah Smith put on his boots? I'd recommend giving it a watch if you haven't yet. Good for the family. I only made it through the first season. I think seven or eight episodes.

I think you'll like it. Let me know what you think. The second or third show is about Jim Bridger. Gives a pretty good account of why he left Hugh Glass for dead... That was one tough sob.

I did and enjoyed it. Although some stories differed from books I had read

Been watching it. you tube. I'm to the point where I may have seen all of them. Really some interesting stuff. Wondering how much is true. Caught a comment about buffalo Bill. He said "There is truth, half truth and legend..."

I have watched a couple of the episodes. The history is mostly right. I will agree that the reenacting is not the best. I am sure budget constraints put a damper on it, but I don't think the scenes give the true flavor of the West at the time.
What struck me the most was the lack of horses, in the couple I watched.
