They do have some medium sized deer and decent fishing though. I’ll give them that .

You haven’t been to the right church. I don’t feel that way at all.

I think it was Pastor June who said the Bible is a story book not a rule book, I bet he's raking it in by now.

Where some churches have gone wrong is pitting the gay pride in leader positions. the unnatural sex is a stated sin in the Bible. Any sin can be forgiven if the person asks for forgivenss and repents. Repent means turns away from!!

I am a regular attender so I will comment.
If your church never teaches on sexual sins, find another church.
If your church only teaches on sexual sins, find another church.
If your church never teaches on any sin, find another church.
Look for a church that teaches the whole counsel of God, not just the parts that the congregation likes or dislikes.

An excerpt from Paul's instruction to the young preacher who would take up the mantel following Paul's martyrdom (most historical theologians believe the next day).
2 Timothy 4: I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

It can be helpful to keep things in perspective of Jesus' life and teachings:
1) When Jesus came to earth, most people rejected him because they preferred darkness rather than light.
2) When Jesus taught strong doctrine rather than just working miracles, many disciples stopped following him.

Wouldn't be a single person safe. Everybody is a sinner, whether they like to admit it or not.

Just the opposite here. I would like to hear more about Jesus and less about this sin or that sin. Yes, preach against sin, but don't pretend there are some extra bad sins, if you know what I mean. Don't rip on the homos to make yourself look good. When was the last time you heard a sermon on gluttony. Why not? Because it's an "acceptable "sin in our culture. My opinion is just preach the gospel and quit categorizing sin.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Church discipline isn't about who is a sinner. It is about people who make the claim of being followers of Christ, yet who participate in habitual, public displays of sin. There is also a process to church discipline that is to be followed.

Let's not forget that sexual sins aren't just about homosexuality. Fornication and lust springs to mind.

Then perhaps the sermon should be about the danger and fear of God handing one over to their sin and them no longer being able to recognize them.

Hard to talk about stuff and look good and keep your flock when your doing a lot of the same.

Idk about y'all but lotta churches down here are kinda culty , lotta the church leads aren't the best people, women folk doin all sorts of stuff to keep their attention, basically a harem to a point. Open secrets. Seen a few out of the loop pastors and the like come in bring it up and then they where gone next Sunday or two... Not killed or anything but where politely told they were not welcome.

Talk about it and people get very uncomfortable and try to change subjects. That or they try and completely disregard it and gas light you into thinking your in the wrong

Also find it odd when they'll go on rants using the few verses in Leviticus going on about gay people but then just skip over the next few talking about not lusting after other mens women and cheating ,the like.... Like we're really just gonna cherry pick like that ? whistle honestly the minute the book of Leviticus is brought up I roll my eyes because the cherry picking is always amazing

If ur church isn't teaching the whole Bible front to back id be looking for a new church.
Its getting to the point in this country where we want to be our own gods pick and chose want we want to believe and follow.
