A guy drives his old truck until it goes no more. He finally breaks down and buys a new truck. He says his new truck has one of those video screens that is supposed to let you see what's behind you when you back up. He says the dumb thing doesn't work, though. I'm backing up, I look at the video screen and instead of showing me what's behind me, the stupid thing is a movie about some kid getting run over on a skateboard!

i got one of those in my new truck , it is in the rear view mirror but only turns on when in reverse.

you know it is really handy for backing up to a trailer but not so handy backing up a trailer

I agree, it's great to line up the hitch backing up, but too confusing when you are backing up the trailer you've got hooked up. I use my side mirrors instead.

some of the easiest boat launches to line up on have lines painted so all you have to do is keep the wheel inside that line by a couple inches and follow it right back to the water.

this includes launces you have to back down in a curve that line is nice and when they do it in road paint with the reflective bits in it you can see it in the dark by your backup lights

I've seen one boat dock, that had a couple of huge, curved disc mirrors put up. I've seen people make major screwups there anyways.

Keith

what could go wrong looking in a mirror though a mirror

those curved mirrors just like passenger side mirrors are there to see if someone is there not for any sort of detail about where you are

otherwise it is like trying to backup using a fun house mirror

My back up camera, among with many other things, took a crap in my Tundra. I use mirrors to back up with or without a trailer, but my depth perception is terrible and I have to constantly get out and check how far I have to go. For that, I really miss having the camera.
