What's a good, cheap, washable hat for overly Caucasian people? Ball caps aren't cutting it for me. If I'm outside during the day I'm getting sunburnt.

I'm a dark caucasian so it's more about shade for eyes than anything but a standard usgi boonie works well for me if not wearing my stetson.

Yep straw hat, some high ends are better then cheap., and long sleeve mi amigo…..

I just ordered a Ronnie Van Zant beaver felt w/ rattlesnake band, but not sure if I'll be able to pull it off or not.

if you go this route get one with vented sides. I went with solid sided and boy was it hot.

Straw hats are the best I've found.

I've used straw hats in the past. They get pretty rank, pretty quickly. I found them overly warm too. In a vented straw hat, I get little spots of sunburn. Can you clean a straw hat? If so, how?

Something like Catch posted might work, but it probably needs a wider rim. I have a huge head. I probably should cover my neck too, but it wouldn't be very comfortable.

I'm designed to live a lot further North, in a not sunny area. I've always burned easily. It's gotten worse as I've gotten older. When I was young, I mostly stayed in the woods when outside. Now working on plants in full sun cooks me. I even get sunburned under a pop up awning somehow. I wouldn't think indirect sunlight can burn me, but it does.

I turn red, peel, turn white again and burn again. I almost don't tan at all.
