Same down here in the deep South....not a single poult. Have seen a couple lone hens past few days.
Several fawns seen.

The heat and humidity is often the deciding factors here too wet, dry, hot, cold, hail all impacts the outcomes.

I’ve been watching four hens in a field on my road for a couple of weeks now. I’m trying hard to see poults, but there’s no way I’m missing them in the short grass of the field.
Four hens, no poults…not good.
Eh...wot?

I saw 2 different hens the other day and the grass was moving around them so I assume she had little ones there. I did see a batch of baby grouse that had to have been just born. Lots of fawns this year.
I have nothing clever to put here.

If the hen's had a good Spring and hatch, we should have Grouse EVERYWHERE this fall. I counted 8 males drumming one day on 80 acres.

I have 6 hens coming to the golden corral buffet every day, and another 20 something in the neighborhood, not a single poult...same as last year...I did see 2 dead fawns, one didn't get across the road fast enough and one that was run over by a bush hog....but they just dropped here so I'm sure theres more... Nature and unconditional events are tough on wildlife. I haven't seen any moose young yet either.

On the nice days when we were turkey hunting we would see a lot of roosters alone the ones that had hens only looked to have one or two hen in their gathering.
Not sure why but the turkey hens are sitting later then past seasons many still roosting in the trees until the end of the season with the males. The last day of the season some of the flocks had not even dispersed yet with gobblers, hens and jakes all in the same group. They should be spread out over the area long before the end of May.
