I competed over the weekend in Coon Valley, WI.
Had an awesome time. I was in Men's Master's (old, not experienced, LOL). No weight classes, so I was the smallest by 60 pounds. Same implements for everyone, so I was way outclassed.
But, I had a blast and will be back next year.

Weights:
Log 200 pounds
Carry event was 160 pound log, 218 husafell shield and 231 husafell shield (I didn't get the 231)
Stone to shoulder was 184 pounds
Farmers walk was 190 pounds in each hand
Hammer for the throw was 25 pounds

So are you a Scandihoovian K? My dad claimed that the Swedes were nuts. He worked on a Swedish farm during the summer of 1939 and the men carried 100 kilo bags of grains up a ramp to spill into a silo. He was told since he was a school teacher (he weighed about 140 lbs) he could just help edge the sacks over to the end of the wagon. But when he saw an old man not much bigger than him hoist one up over his back dad had to try too. Ended up losing his balance and spilling the grain. The Swedes congratulated him in not breaking his leg.

Nope, 100% English and American blood in these veins. I walk around at 185 pounds, so the stone was body weight. The farmer's walk was body weight in each hand.

That's the big appeal to me about strongman, it is more about functional strength, not just gym strength, or big muscles.

I think body weight in each hand would be very bad for me depending on the day that would be 550-570

that is like carrying round a boat motor and fishing gear

The big boys (220 and up) were carrying 280 in each hand.

I deer hunted with two old Swedes. The one guy was a bazooka man during WWII and strong as an ox. He would drag deer out of the woods like they were woodchucks. They farmed and cut bluestone for a living. Great guys, would give you the shirt off their backs.

My paternal grandfather from southern Sweden was a stone cutter. A lot of the stone buildings in Portland Oregon came from quarries he worked.
