Who is the Prince of Rosh according to scripture; not what theologians think it is?
I have searched my Bible diligently trying to find a cross reference. There are plenty for Meschach, Tubal, Gomer, Magog, Tiras, Ashkenaz, Riphath, Togormah, etc. but not Rosh that I can find.
I also went through the Septuagint, The Book of Jasher, and Jubilees, and have come up blank. What/where have I over looked? What am I missing?
Rosh means head or beginning. This is interesting because Jesus is referred to as the Head in colossians ch2 and he is the beginning and the end. Just food for thought.
Very interesting Giant Sage. Thanks for sharing; had not thought of that.
Spent the last week in a hotel and forgot my Bible as I usually have one in the truck. Luckily, there was a Gideon Bible in my room. I can't tell you how many times I've read these two chapters, but for some reason, I got a different take on it last week when reading. For as I can tell, they are nearly exact.

Love the book of Ezekial, but decoding zek is like decoding vink sometimes. Vink, I'm saying this in a loving manner.

So, I was unable to run down the prince of Rosh, so I went to the others..... Meschach and Tubal.
Cross referencing those two will lead you straight to Genesis 10:2 where Gomer is also mentioned as well as Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. These were all clearly descendants of Japeth, so they are not Semitic (lineage of Shem) from my understanding. They would be Japethite rather than Semite or Hamite.
In 38:5 in Ezekiel, it mentions Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya as being with them; all of them with shield and helmet. Many of these place have been or are currently being in conflict now. 38: goes on to mention Gomer and all its troops, the house of Togarmah for the far north and all its troops.....
If one locates these regions with the Hebrew Map according to the Mosaic Account....attached below. Then it is clear that Gomer is both modern day Ukraine and Turkey (especially eastern Turkey). Mashech, Gog/Magog are south of the Caucasus Mountains in the current Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan regions, while Magog is just north of the Caucaus mountains. Other descendants mentioned would be Ashkenaz, Ripthath, and Togarmah; all of which appear to be in Turkey and east Turkey. The Turkish/Mongolian descent area.
Running this down led me to Abraham Polak who was an Israeli historian, a professor at the Tel Aviv University since its inception, professor of medieval history and founder of the department of Middle-Eastern History. His main areas of research were Jewish history, Arab history, nations of Islam and Africa and the history of the Khazars.......according to Wikipedia. Link to him below.
According to Wikipedia, Polaks research and writings were well received as far as being historically accurate. "His book Khazaria: History of a Jewish Kingdom in Europe was groundbreaking, not only due to the comprehensive approach to the issue of the Khazars, but specifically because for the first time, Islamic sources were used. These sources were essentially unknown to researchers in the west and were uncovered by Polak through his work which was based on Arab, Persian and Kurd authors.[13]
In his book, Polak presented two important, albeit controversial assumptions - the first considered a non-Middle-Eastern origin for most of the Eastern-European Jews; the second, saw the birth of the Yiddish language in Crimea and not in Germany, as was previously believed."
I have no comment on any of this, Chancey, other than to say if you want your posts to be credible, ditch Wiki. No institution of higher learning anywhere considers it a credible source.
Chance, I think you're on to somthing. Biblical Rome was a mix of nationalities mostly descendants of Japeth. Here is a Parable. It was Rome that destroyed Harods Temple, And Jesus prophesied it.
I've heard opinions such as there is no reference in the bible that seems to indicate America as a player in the end times. If so, the result of a catastrophic event? Or, is there a symbolic reference we are missing in the bible that pertains to America?

I've not seen anything that suggest we'll be around for it but Chancey, Sage, Preacher man and others sure know a heck of a lot more then me about the Bible. I sure enjoy they're discussions. It'd be kinda cool if they had a Bible study group here!
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Amen to everything you've said. I enjoy all their posts and a few others as well.

I figure all nations will turn on Israel, or at least became isolated from Israel, even the good ol' USA. Evidence of both scenarios exist in the politics of today.

If the US becomes overrun with and controlled by Islamists, America could isolate themselves from supporting Israel. In another post it was mentioned that some Muslims have numerous wives and each wife has as many as 6 children. American women only average 1 or 2. The strategy of radical Islam is to convert the world.
Some other reasons maybe that the bible focuses on the middle east with limited references to other parts of the world. Or, America is destroyed by a massive nuclear attack. Or, America declines as the super power it is today by turning away from God. When I look at a lot of this new spoiled generation on the threshold and their woke ideology, this is a possibility as well.

Agree. Within the context of scripture, is Israel a geographical spot on the map with boundaries and a government, or is it a fellowship of believers?
