Seen a big brood of chicks today of course they were standing in the lane I was driving in lucky I missed them must of been around 10 with the one hen that was standing on the other side of the road. Guy behind me probably thought I brake checked him he should have left more distance he had opportunity's to go around long before that.

Lots of cover this year with early rains that made scouting for turkey harder this year with the taller grass in the fields so that was an indication of better cover. Seen a bunch of roosters but not a lot of hens but the birds should mostly be wild not released ones that’s become more centralized in places. If the weather holds it’s looking good for this fall lots of green now with well spaced rainfalls so it’s looking good so far.

Anything can change the outcome heat, hail flooding but hoping for the best.

That is great. I was to the ranch this morning seen a couple of hens and no pheasant chicks with them and seen about 6 to 8 cocks.

I hope they do for ya, I sure miss'em around here!

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Great news. As an avid bird dogger, I approve this message grin Haven't seen any broods yet this year of any of the prairie species of upland.

Saw a hen with 8 or 10 chicks behind the house a couple days ago.
We have had a nice string of good nesting seasons and easy winters, so as a result it seems pheasants are everywhere.

Haven't seen any pheasant broods yet, but judging by cackling this spring we are definitely looking better.
I have seen 2 broods of quail at my buddies farm, but he doesn't want anyone hunting them which is fine with me.
Mallards, Canadas and Woodies have had a great hatch in SE Wi, not to mention doves as there is definitely a bumper crop.
Rabbits are everywhere, more than the last 3 years which have been very good.
All in all it's been very positive in my AOA.

Rabbits everywhere this spring seeing them everywhere all hours of the day when it’s cool. Not many rabbit hunters here if you talk about squirrel or rabbit hunting you get weird looks.

Same here, but I love late season coupled with some ice fishing for bluegill.
A couple of the farms I hunt have decent fishing also, and there's nothing better than bringing out the young ones with .410s to kick brush piles if they get board.
