I hook them thru the back end of the body shell, leaves the tail free to let them scoot backwards, I also will use bread bag twistys to tie them to a hook . Always pinch off the main claws so they can't grab stuff and then not be able to move them around.

Shrimp walker. Getem at palm beach tackle. Its a harness that will hold crawdads to a hook so they can move naturally.I be never heard of that before

I always hooked them starting at the end of the tail and threading them on and coming out just below the body. You can move it around as much as you want to. Never had any problems with them coming off, without a fish on them. I never used the eatingsized ones. They were for eating.

( Inside joke for Foxkid44 ) Take lug nut off your truck and lay it about a foot from a craw dad hole and when he comes out to steal it, grab him quickly, lol !I remember a story about someone changing a tire and the lug nut going down a crayfish hole. They were able to retrieve it. Same story? Keith

I have caught more drum with crawdads than any other speciesDrum seem to be addicted to crawdads. I use to hate that fact back when I still believed drum were trash fish.
