I can’t wait to get a few dozen definitely going to make a nice trap to use in the areas where fox population are higher then yotes but will handle any passing yote with ease.

Looks a bit heavy for grey fox.

I agree Patrick. Any trap over 2 pounds pretty much seals the deal with grey fox. Not saying it wouldn't be a great coyote live market trap but I just do not like square jawed foot traps. It's just my opinion but I have personally lost 4 coyotes out of #2 bridgers 20 years ago. Traps where newer with good springs too. To make matters worse I have personally seen 2 coyotes pull out of them right infront of me. I can honestly say I have never had a coyote pull out of a round jaw trap. Even #1.5s or mb 450s. I spoke to Kendall about this trap and asked if there was any chance he would do it in a round jaw but he said no. Not knocking the man or his traps. I have much respect for him and have spoke with him several times. Great guy! Just I favor round jawed traps. Robert Waddell once said round jaw traps pay the bills.

With the gap in the jaw for the pan to engage I don't see this trap being any good for the live market, now if the pan was designed to engage on top of the jaw then maybe so.

I agree. That notch won't do foxes' feet any favors.

Maybe a welded on tab for dog engagement would work instead of the dog engaging on the jaw face.

in the mirror a lot lmao

Often wanted to talk with this guy

Bigger and stronger is not always a plus with some equipment. With my experience I am going the other direction.

A moderate weight, sound trap with 2 coil springs is plenty trap for anything I am after. Like in using lure and bait, more is not better. Spend more time on learning location and a little goes a long ways.

Curious what the intention with this trap is. Seems way overbuilt for a 1.5, or any animal you'd target with a 1.5.

That's my thoughts. From the weight and looks of it, heavy for fox and a smallish jawspread for coyotes.

This is what I asked on page 1 of this thread.

Are there a lot of trappers out there that need a 1.5 coil built that heavy? Im all for the availability of well built traps, but not sure this was a good business decision for NoBS Traps.

The springs being on that side decrease pan tension with that dogless design

With the springs on the "right" side the pan tension is a little higher from the factory and require some adjustment

Trappers nowadays don't own a file and like to complain when factory pan tension is higher than they deem fit, so that's why NO BS puts them on the "wrong" side

Gotta live up to the nickname...
