I posted this on the collector forum, but thought it might get a bit more visibility here. I'm wondering about originality and value. There are two holes in the pan, I know that some Triumphs were manufactured that way, but don't know if it's original to this particular model. Also, I've not seen chain like this on a Triumph, and wonder if it belongs there. There is one broker locking lug, and I know that will affect value. Any information would be much appreciated. I got out of collecting a long, long time ago but that is a TOUGH trap to find! The jaw lugs are usually broken. I THINK that chain is an old Triumph chain that may or may not be right for that trap but it IS a Triumph chain I am pretty sure. Hopefully Wissmiss or one of the other experienced collectors will chime in. You can always PM "Bumpy" too and Eddie will help you out.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Thank you Rob. Do you happen to have a guess on the holes in the pan being original? I think I have Eddie's number, so if I don't get some answers, I can shoot him a text.

If I had to GUESS I would say they are correct but I got rid of my meager collection years ago. The garage got 8 inches taller when they all came down off the ceiling. If you don't have Ed's number let me know and I can send it to you. Ed is a good guy and a straight shooter.

My 4-XT has that chain on it. My pan does not have any holes in it. But it is possible they might have used different pans.
