My Grandpa had an Allis CA (wide front) that all us kids used to drive. It wasn't good for much more than hauling the egg basket or a few suckers from the creek but it sure was a treat for a 6-8 year old kid. I remember that in 1st gear you about had to drive stakes in the ground to see if you were moving or not.

My favorite setup for cutting hay is a C Allis with a side mount mower, five foot bar. Real nice for small areas of hay.
