Thanks for handling that Canadian down there. TV news just said a Canadian died while detained by ICE in Florida. On the radio they added 20 extra seconds describing said man’s background…….good riddance.

Failing to follow simple directions can get you hurt it’s the one common denominator in many arrests you cannot give up your own safety for out of control people that’s just a fact. That guy that stabbed the kid at a track meet is getting millions in financial support that’s just crazy even after being charged with first degree murder the world is upside down now.

Near Alligator Alley. My old stomping grounds, growing up.
It is in a good flat easily seen by aircraft location. Yes surrounded by glades, maybe a few floating islands. As for gators, MEH.....if one knows their behavior patterns , how to deal with them, and the time of year temperatures, they're like big "daises". Steve Erwin used to drag his big gator, called Daisy, around by the tail.
He showed how docile they are most of the time , and that they are very sedentary in colder winter temps. Daisy was around 12 feet , and Steve loved showing folks how easily he dealt with her.
Also the bigger they were, the easier he was able to handle them. "It's the small ones that will git ya'", he used to say with a grin.
He rightly called gators tame , compared to salties. Now if those glades were surrounded by salties, that would be a different story. There is a rare FLA crocodile , they are uncommon and much smaller than the giant ones of fame.
Since many if not all those thugs don't have a clue about dealing with gators, the legends alone will keep them fearful and likely in line.
A 25 plus foot feral reticulated python is another story too.
It's a good place for a prison processing area.
The vast areas of muck quicksand will take them out faster than anything else.

Ron D. is a smart man. You forgot diamondbacks. Central and South Florida has probably the healthiest population of Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnakes.

Yes Warrior the snakes are awesome . Except, rattlers are found on dry land basically, so any road or dry island or mainland would have plenty. Out in those glades, they get the water snakes , and the feral pythons . Either way, there's a variety of locals escapees can visit with while hiding out . Don't forget the mosquitoes. A lot of those things could be a source of food , if the escapees had the tools to kill and skin 'em. With no fire or cooking , raw wouldn't be fun . What the real threat would be is impaling a foot or leg on something , or getting sliced a thousand cuts by glades saw grass. Infection is fast and gets ugly quick. Besides the big areas of glades sink mud to get caught in. Loads of fun....

I imagine there are a lot of big scary looking bugs and insects they will see crawling around in their cells that will freak these brave criminals out.

After a fair warning and a grace period to safely flee the country, we should just harvest their organs and dispose of the rest of the carcass. Make them self deport. Take all their property if they are caught here after a specific date. They would flee enmasse. Keith

President Trump is on his way to visit there with Ron D and Kristy. That will be fun to see, for me.
As for the "protesters", as small a group as they are, they are once again just wanting attention to themselves, and or paid, once again, to be idiots.
If all told, the vast amount of glades that have been totally filled in, to make more housing acreage over the years, dwarfs the small airport that has been sitting there for so long, either one of these facts without a peep from anyone "concerned"about the habitat.
I see right through that s......stuff .

Hi Sharon, them Florida rattlers are a temperamental bunch. Dealt with them for 42 years. As far as dry land. I have found them on land as well as swamp land. I was almost was nailed by a 5 footer( I have the buttons) on a game trail( trail was spongy /wet) running parallel to a swamp. Dang thing coiled to strike and didn't make a sound. Only gave itself away by drawing back to strike. The heat, skeeters and ticks are the worst. Plus I hate spiders.
