There is the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Satan, the one from Satan remains so people can reject it and turn to Gods through Jesus Christ.

This gets confusing if you really dive into it because of our need for human logic. How can God both be completely sovereign and yet Satan rules the kingdom of men? It's why I believe in free will. God will bring everything into subjection to him but meanwhile he allows a lot of disorder so people choose him from love, not because they are forced.
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

GS, do you think people who are of his kingdom can still be oppressed by demons? I think that's part of the reason we must remain in communion with God. We have to remember what kingdom we are part of. Otherwise we are motivated by the world.

But does scripture mention satan having a sovereign kingdom. In Job satan needed God's permission to test Job.

If I recall correctly, God had put special protections around Job.

And if we let it take root and transgress then we can be come a backslider. Does this mean we can allow a demon in. If our house is swept clean and we don't have the spirit then I'm thinking there's room for intruders.

Matthew 12:43-45, note the "also" in 45 Thank you Les, This is the pasage I was quoting from. Jesus was casting out demons throughout his ministry. Like Salem said, put on Jesus = the armor of God. Without it we are blind and naked, leaves us pretty vulnerable.

So pretty well with the verse in Matthew, if you get the unclean spirit out don't let it come back, because it comes back 7x worse. Kind of how I took it. Yes, be filled with the spirit of God. Like king David said My cup over floweth.

Paul says that Satan is the god of this world and also the prince of the power of the air. We can take that however we want, but IMO Jesus makes it very clear in Matthew 4.
Satan took Jesus up on a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And Satan said to Jesus, "All these things I will give to You if You will fall down and worship me."
In order to give something and it be a legite deal, then the giver must truly own it. Jesus never questioned Satan's ownership of all the world's kingdoms, He didn't even argue with Satan over his claim/offer; rather Jesus just said "Away with you Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only you shall serve."
Every time I see very real unquestionable evil in very high place within the global governments, I think of these verses. Satan does control this world.......Look around.

Without it we are blind and naked, leaves us pretty vulnerable. When I read the whole chapter the verses mentioned seem to indicate a unwillingness to turn from religion/legalism and to turn to Christ. I don't believe the Pharisees Jesus was speaking to possessed the Armor of God as Christ followers do.

Matthew 12:43-45, note the "also" in 45 There is not a doubt in my mind that demons are territorial and seek out their homeland. It is why it is very very important in my mind to pray over a new home or new property and give it all to God.
