Don't need re-rod for a footer.Was cheaper for me to have everything poured togather so I'm now going to also have the porch concrete slab poured at the same time.Going to use metal cattle panels inside of the porch pad instead of re-rod.Got to also get that ready now and have the concrete sceduled to be delivered on the 17th of June.

Save your cash on the cattle panels and spend money on excavating the top soils and compact with proper fill
Bar only makes it not settle once it start to sink after the cracking start because of improper soil handling conditions

I built commercial concrete walls and footers for around 4 years. There's a huge difference in what is required for commercial inspected work and home, non inspected, do it yourself work. A lot of the difference is because of how much load is born by the footers.

It is a piece of the highest weight printer paper you can purchase from the box stores.
This piece of paper sat outside under cover for a very short period, and absorbed moisture.
My hypothesize ….l..
The higher fiber levels of wood stock used to create this fine paper, increased the amount of particulate area for moisture to be absorbed.

Might be able to save a planet with this.

Some of the guys appear to have thought you were putting a concrete slab as the floor for your den, instead a wood floor, supported by concrete, with a crawl space. Their comments didn't make sense to me at first either until I figured out they didn't understand what you were building.

A trip today to Bangor and got a load of plywood,nails,and building wrap.

I'm glad you made it with that load safely, FYI when you don't match the suspension and trailer to the load a burnt up bearing or blown tire is bad. It however is not the worst thing that can happen.

Getting it done! Are you working by yourself? 3/4" sheets by myself are starting to kick my butt. Currently building a butcher shop inside of my pole barn. Walls for shop are 8', barn walls are 12'. Putting 3/4" on top of ceiling joists for storage. Dreading hossing 12 sheets up there by myself on Monday.

Nope, will cut it off once the roof is on.

I always put a double 2x8 with one hanging over to help keep the rain out.

Are the studs 16 inches o.c. ? They look more like 24 o.c. Do you have a code where you're at?

24 inches using true rough cut lumber.eveything is 2 inches thick ,unlike planed lumber wich is only 1 1/2 inches thick.I live in unorganized territory with no codes.

About a 7 foot wide open opening from the main house into my den.Plus the door from outside from the new front porch.LOL....I'm to old to get wet and cold when I can just wait for better weather.Still got alot of time before fall gets here.

Odds and ends this afternoon.I got home from work.Visited my mother.Then odds and ends day at home.Moved the dryer vent and outside spicket to end of my house.Then took out a window that will be added later to the end of the house as well.Start framing the last wall tomorrow morning.Got to visit a grandson in Houlton at 10:00 am before heading back home and finish getting the wall framed up.

The walls are up.Roof is next.
