Heading to Cape Cod to watch my nephew play baseball. You guys are always good for suggesting good places to eat, things to see or do. Taking some fishing rods and will also be taking my nephew and his catcher out on a striper charter. He got really excited when spell check changed my text to him, and he thought I was taking him out on a stripper charter.

Lots of public beaches and many private beaches open at sunset to the public or walk carefully out on the jetties. Small scoop and you can have all the sand fleas you want for bait where the waves break on the beach, otherwise get some frozen squid and small hooks cut em in tiny pieces and a heavy slip sinker. You'll catch a pile of porgies and they're very good eating. Also probably can get blue crabs with a basket and the fish heads. Grocery stores sell small lobster at good prices too

Hopes this helps.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

Thanks. I am taking my budget korkers ($9 fake crocs from amish store that I glued felt to the bottom and added down spout screws) for the rocks. Can't tell from fishing reports if the canal is any good right now. No crabbing this trip as we are staying in a cut rate motel. Prices for any lodging there had me puckering.

Cooke's Seafood in Orleans and Mac's Seafood Market on the Wellfleet town pier are great places to get seafood. Check out Nauset Beach and Coast Guard Beach on the Atlantic and the First Encounter Beach on Cape Cod Bay. Just stay out of Provincetown!!!

Fresh water has large mouth bass, pickeral, perch and sunnies too. Lots of the "ponds" are stocked with trout and that makes the bass even bigger. Lots of ticks in the woods use you permethrin spray on your clothes. I lived there for a year in the '80s and there were a lot of quail running around to wake up to in the morning. When driving look out for speed bumps in the road. Have fun.....jk
