Pirate Shipping and UPS might be the way to go, if UPS is a few bucks more I go with them to avoid the USPO drama anymore.

I never use USPS to ship unless an extremely heavy item and it will fit in the flat rate box.

Just sent a letter to my Sister, 73 cents, I remember when it was 13 cents. I think they're mismanaged horribly and are in need of alignment. With that said, it sure is something special to get a letter in the mail.

We started using Pirate shipping a while ago. Doesn't surprise me they would go up also. Much cheaper than the others

I remember when a bottle of pop was 20 cents

If a guy is worried about the price of a stamp go buy 500. Who mails many letters anyways .

Heck go buy 10k worth of forever stamps.
It would an almost 7 percent roi the day the rise goes in effect. Not bad

Part of the problem is they do not have enough business to support the system so like every business that fails they raise prices rather than figure out how to survive.
My rural mail delivery is coming a couple hours earlier than they used to.I asked my mailman why and he said because they do not have as much mail to deliver.Business is way off.

Are the alternatives any cheaper?

I don't have the problems like many do but to be fair I don't ship much nor buy much.

X2 I ship quite a bit and it's very very rare for me to have any problems with them.

If you look around yes there are a few services that give good discounts on UPS and USPO that you can't get walking in the door of either place. Speedy has really hiked their prices also the last time I shipped with them. If your OK with paying more then go for it have at it.

I trade sell old truck parts to keep our mini trucks on the road no real money in it so when shipping is as much or more then the parts I'm shipping yes its a problem for me. Maybe its not a issue for you but I posted my opinion on the matter. Id bet the bulk shippers are not that thrilled about the hikes also and a lot of other folks.

Well I'm not impressed with the accelerating rise in shipping costs. Best thing that could happen is if bulk mail prices would double or triple ... maybe my mailbox wouldn't have nearly as much useless junk mail in it that I need to get rid of.

I agree, as is the case with many federal, state, city agencies, the USPS needs reforming!
Thanks,

I can send a letter from NY State to Oklahoma or pretty much anywhere else in the USA for 73¢. I consider that really cheap
